Spring Into Summer

Get SUN-SENSE.
• The sun is not our enemy. We were made for sunshine. But exercise good sun-sense by only staying in the sun for specified amounts of time, based on your skin tone, without sun protection.

• Sunscreen/Sunblock. Must have UVA and UVB protection. Use sunscreens that do not contain toxic chemicals.

•To determine if your sunscreen is toxic go to this web site: http://breakingnews.ewg.org/2011sunscreen/

• The sunshine vitamin. Vitamin D affects 2,000 - 3,000 cells in our bodies. It helps improve our moods, increases energy, calcium absorption, prevent cancer and promotes better sleep.

Summer Food.
•In the heat of summer, nature gives us exactly what we need to eat to stay healthy and cool. Eat an abundance of greens, fruits and limited amounts of heavy animal protein.

• Grilling. Limit exposure to toxins from grilling by marinating meat and not over cooking food or charring food.

Mosquitoes.
• Stay away from all anti-repellants with DEET. It’s toxic.

REMEMBER: Have FUN! Summer is a great time for relaxation. Enjoy the beauty of taking time to relax and un-wind. It will do wonders for you - mind, body and soul.
